The Philharmonic and Jonathan Biss perform Beethoven’s dramatic Second Piano Concerto and Timo Andres’s new piano concerto, part of a project creating new concertos inspired by each of Beethoven’s five. The Blind Banister is “a captivating work … that goes from haunting and hopeful to an eventual explosion of energy” (St. Paul Pioneer Press). Plus Elgar’s evocative In the South (Alassio).

The composition takes the spectator on a haunting and mesmerizing voyage of the soul from Departure (fall from grace), Absence (spiritual annihilation) to Return (redemption).
The Black Angel perfromance will be blended with select scenes, dreams and words from the film Wings Of Desire by Little Cinema's founder and AV artist CHNNLS (Jay Rinsky) blurring the lines of film, live music and perfromance,
